One think I think is missing from this conversation is the amount of inconsistent information and lack of nutritional knowledge within the medical community. It's very hard to know what actually IS the healthy choice (i.e. red meat, coconut oil, etc.); you can find information that makes these seem like the best and worst thing you can eat. That is compounded by the USA allowing obscure marketing labels that will allow something to be called X, when it actually contains z, y, and x. Seed oils everywhere, etc.
